Diamond / CBN - Resin bonded - Dressing CBN - Brake controlled truing device
Brake controlled truing device
Although this unit is not designed for being fitted with a diamond rotary truer, it nevertheless belongs to the group of rotary dressing tools which are suitable for dressing resin bonded CBN and diamond grinding wheels. A vitrified bonded silicon carbide (SiC) wheel is used as the dressing wheel.

Application guidelines
  • The device should be held securely by a magnetic table or by bolts where possible. On surface grinders, the spindle of the truing device has to be parallel to the wheel axis. The device has to be placed in such a way that the truing wheel rotation does not unscrew the securing nut; the correct direction of rotation is indicated by an arrow on the unit.
  • The truing device can only be used dry. Do not fiood with grinding fluid!
  • Turn the wheel spindle to full operating speed and move the grinding wheel into close contact with the truing wheel. Prior to contact, rotate the truing wheel by hand, using the knurled screw; this will avoid creating a wear fiat on the truing wheel.
  • Infeed by about 0.01 mm per pass using a traverse feed rate of 1 to 2 m/min while traversing the CBN or diamond wheel across the full width of the truing wheel.
  • After truing, the CBN or diamond wheel must be opened up by sticking with a very soft grade white aluminium oxide stick, for example, 42A320 H9V38
